In Schema luminoso rays of light appear on a dark ground, creating a geometric and luminous constellation that varies and changes over time. These poetic and evanescent forms are generated by a hidden technological mechanism: a little motor operates concentric rotating disks covered with a black adhesive film, into which are cut little marks that let the light filter through only at given points and times. Reflection on light characterises the artist’s work in the early 1970s, contemporary to her adhesion to the Gruppo T. In her own words: «I am interested in light as a phenomenon that continuously varies over slow, contracted periods of time. It is a dynamic phenomenon in essence, since an energy is emitted that invades space». (LC)
