“Light architecture” was created as a site-specific installation designed by the artist for the central window of Palazzo Minoletti  in Gallarate . The installation, created on the occasion of ZAT - Artistic Temporary Zone XXI / XXII National Prize for Visual Arts City of Gallarate , was conceived as a sort of transparent and colorful curtain and as a huge stained glass window made with bottle bottoms , as well as a kaleidoscopic and attractive surface capable to transform the space into which it is situated. The work is made up of a series of panels formed by thousands of bottoms of colored plastic bottles, cut and twisted together using plastic clamps . Just because of this modular feature the installation of Enrica Borghi can be rearranged independently of the original architecture for which it has been designed . Another key element in the realization of the work, and that generally characterizes the artist's aesthetic is the use of waste and recycled materials, which  through a simple craft work is transformed into an aesthetic object . About this point the artist writes: "In this  waste there is in all our daily life" and again "in these plots you find a supermarket, a bakery ... everything that is thrown away is a symbol of a lot of stories , a mesh of relationships, a diary that tells us something. There is the hope that this waste , through its processing, can become other stories. The works I create are made of waste but they are poems, dreams, and always refer to something beautiful . "
The process through which the work was made, as well as the collective actions in which students and volunteers in the area were involved, are mainly interesting. In this way the creation of an artwork transforms itself into a device, into an occasion for a mutual exchange of opinions and public debate.
