The Exhibition
Alfabeto del Contemporaneo. La voce degli artisti
28.04 - 25.06.2024
In collaboration with
Alfabeto del Contemporaneo brings the faces, voices and words of women artists to the museum's halls and on Sky Arte with the aim of explaining eight key words of contemporary art.
These eight words, each chosen from a work and an artist from MA*GA's collection, are a cue to delve deeper, to tell and to discover around which ideas the creativity of our time is born and develops.
If among the most frequently asked questions about art on Google is, "Why don't I understand contemporary art?" it means that contemporary art, the art that best represents us, is likely to leave many questions unanswered. Alphabet of the Contemporary fits into this sense as a cue to investigate, to tell and to discover around which ideas the creativity of our time is born and develops.
THRESHOLD, CITY, GEOGRAPHY, ECONOMY, DEDALO, ARCHEOLOGY, WORD and LIGHT are the words that accompany the contributions by Massimo Bartolini, Paola Di Bello, Ottonella Mocellin and Nicola Pellegrini, Marzia Migliora, Riccardo Arena, Michele Ciacciofera, Cesare Pietroiusti and Chiara Dynys.
Around these eight short documentaries, a series of works, again from the museum's collections, will broaden the reflection, offering new insights into the visual culture of our time. In the exhibition, the historical research of Atanasio Soldati, Emilio Isgrò, and Irma Blank will be flanked by the works of contemporary protagonists, including Jacopo Miliani, Chiara Camoni and Marina Ballo Charmet.
Alfabeto del Contemporaneo is a Storyville production curated by Alessandro Castiglioni and Emma Zanella, part of the project Il Museo nell'Era Post Digitale, Fondo Cultura 2021, Ministry of Culture.
